This Guy Has Terrorizing Sleep Paralysis. What He Did About That Is Deeply Haunting.

Imagine waking up in the middle of the night, completely terrified and immobilized. You try to call for help, but you can”t. You”re in a waking nightmare, surrounded by horrifying hallucinations. As awful as it sounds, there are people who experience those things, with some variations. It”s called sleep paralysis. An extremely talented photographer named Nicolas Bruno has been haunted by his sleep paralysis since he was 15. He has since used these nightmares and visions to inspire his surreal and conceptual photography.

The 19 year-old is a student at Purchase College in New York. He is refining his photography skills there, but he took all of the photos below “with only my camera, two lenses, remote, and my tripod.” He doesn”t have assistances, expensive lighting or other gadgets. It”s just one man and his camera.

After having such terrifying nightmares during his sleep paralysis episodes, he began writing his experiences down.

“After time, I started noting down these experiences and pulling main components of these dreams – such as silhouetted figures and chilling subject matter to create for a bittersweet homage and reenactment of these dream-world encounter.” -Nicolas Bruno
